Ukrainian band Brunettes Shoot Blondes, which made it to the finals of the Eurovision-2019 National Selection, refused from participating in the song contest in advance, as the musicians wrote on Facebook page.
“We get lots of messages with a question whether National TV Company contacted the Brunettes Shoot Blondes. We would like to state in advance: if we have a proposal to take part in Eurovision-2019, we will reject it. Our band did not win on the National Selection, this is not our trip. We would like our fans to understand this decision – we have many other platforms for meetings with you,” the message says.
Besides, the band invited everyone to their solo concert is scheduled for October 4, 2019 in Kyiv.
It remains to be seen who will represent Ukraine at Eurovision-2019. At the same time, Ukraine’s National TV Company concedes that there might be no representative of our country at all.
Earlier it was reported that singer Anna Korsun (Maruv) would not present Ukraine at the song contest Eurovision-2019. Maruv said that she was forced to refuse from the participation in the contest from Ukraine due to her tour in Russia.
Maruv won the Ukrainian national selection for Eurovision and should perform with Siren Song in the first semi-final of the Eurovision, which will take place on May 14. Her performance was planned for the second half of the show.
Besides, STB Channel stated that the rules of the national selection for Eurovision do not contain demands on the absence of the tours in the Russian Federation. It also added that only the National Television Company of Ukraine can decide who will present Ukraine during the Eurovision.
On February 26, Freedom-jazz girls band, which got the second place in the national selection for Eurovision song contest, refused to participate in it. Later, Kazka band, which took the third place, also refused to present Ukraine at Eurovision.
