Britain specified the number of Russian diplomats to be expelled from the country due to Skripal’s poisoning. 23 people in total were included in the list, Rain TV channel reports.
Russian diplomats have a week to leave Great Britain.
An invitation to visit a country sent to Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister, was withdrawn.
Besides, Theresa May said that none of members UK Cabinet and none of the Royal Family will go to see the World Football Championship which is held this summer in Russia.
May noted that she did not want to terminate the dialogue with Russia completely. She added she discussed the current situation with Donald Trump, U.S. President, Angela Merkel, Germany’s Chancellor and Emmanuel Macron, the President of France. May stressed that they could reach the consensus and agree to act together.
May noted that Great Britain can take other measures as a reaction to Skripal’s poisoning without making them public.
Aleksandr Yakovenko, Russian ambassador to Britain, has already commented on the situation, NTV reports. He called London’s actions a provocation and promised, that Kremlin will take relevant measures.
