Boxes with smuggled cigarettes found in Odesa port

A large consignment of smuggled cigarettes was found in Odesa port, as the press office of Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service reported.

According to the border guards, Chernivtsi company documented the cargo on the customs and sent to Odesa for sending it to Israel by sea.

During the inspection of the cargo with a toilet paper, the law enforcers found a huge amount of boxes with cigarettes.

The inter-ministerial group with the border guards, the representatives of the National Police economic security department, members of SBU Anti-Corruption and organized crime Units, public prosecutors and officers of Odesa customs.

Earlier, Kyiv Shevchenkivskyi District Court arrested Denis Aminev, ex-officer of Odesa customs for two months with a right for a bail. He was suspected in involvement in stealing of seized containers with bonded goods worth around $5,5 million.
