Ukrainian border guards did not let two representatives of Russian mass media to Ukraine, as the press office of Ukraine’s Border Guard Service reports.
“The foreigners arrived in Kyiv by the flights from Minsk and Tbilisi. One of them was not allowed to enter the state due to illegal visit to Crimea. Besides, he will be prohibited from entering Ukraine for three years. As another Russian mass media representative said, he came to Ukraine to watch Champions League final, but the border monitoring determined that the Russian citizen is related to Russian TV channel “Russia”. The man was returned in the opposite direction as the aim of his visit to Ukraine was not confirmed,” the message says.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian border guards met and documented 18,000 citizens who came to Kyiv to watch UEFA Champions League Final. Earlier, the representatives of Ukraine’s Border Guard Service informed that after an additional inspection six people were not allowed to enter the state, two citizens were not let to Ukraine due to the violations of entry-departure procedure on the territory of the annexed Crimea. Besides, the Border Guard Service made partial decisions on passing the Ukrainian border in relation to 200 people.
UEFA Champions League 2018 Final is to be held on May 26 in Kyiv at NSC Olimpiyskiy. 50,000 guests are expected to come to the capital during the final.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine’s Government instructed the law enforcers to increase the level of activities on defining the potential threat of terrorist attacks in Kyiv and Kyiv region on May 18-28.
Besides, around thousand British fans could not make it to the fal as three charter flights to Kyiv were canceled. Liverpool will refund the tickets for the fans, sho did not come due to the cancellation of flights.
