Blackout in Luhansk: Ukraine cuts off electricity in occupied territories

National energy company Ukrenergo announced that electricity supply to the occupied territory of Luhansk region was suspended as of April 25. This was reported by the company in Facebook.

This was done in accordance with the requirements of state enterprise Energorynok approved by the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine, the message says.

The decision was made because of the debt for the electricity.

Specialists of several Ukrainian enterprises developed and implemented all necessary measures to ensure stable operation of the power center of Luhansk thermal power station, reported Ukrenergo.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine intended to stop electricity supply to occupied Luhansk region from April 25. Popasna water utility is among the facilities that receive electricity from Luhansk energy association (LEO).
