Today we will share with you a new story in the series of videos about the beauty of the Ukrainian cities – please welcome one of the oldest historical and cultural cities in Ukraine - Zhytomyr, - with its most popular and famous sights from Bird's eye-view.

The city is surrounded from almost all sides by the forests, the rivers Teteriv, Kamianka, Yaroshenka, Putyatynka flow through the city. Zhytomyr has many parks and squares. On the western outskirts on the banks of the Teterivskoe reservoir, there is a wonderful hydropark.

Zhytomyr is a major transportation hub. The city lies on a historic route linking the city of Kyiv with the west through Brest. Today it links Warsaw with Kyiv, Minsk with Izmail, and several major cities of Ukraine. Zhytomyr was also the location of Ozerne airbase, a key Cold War strategic aircraft base 11 kilometres (6.8 miles) southeast of the city.
