The bilateral trade between Ukraine and Germany grew almost by 23% in 2017. Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine claimed this at the joint briefing with Frank Walter-Steinmeier, the President of Germany as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.
'It is possible to say that we have worked well either in the economy. The giant growth of the bilateral trade took place last year, it is almost 23%. It is one of the record levels among many countries and I think, it is a result of the implementation of the Association Agreement, including the full and overall free trade zone, when the Ukrainian and German producers have the unhindered access to the markets and it leads to the significant growth of the trade volumes and, as the first vice-prime-minister of Ukraine reported, reaches eight billion euro', he said.
As we reported German President Frank Walter-Steinmeier pays an official visit to Ukraine today. He has already met Petro Poroshenko and they discussed the Donbas situation and the deployment of the UN peacekeepers.
