MP from the Servant of the People Party Zhan Beleniuk would like to change the composition of the Ukrainian Olympic delegation in the upcoming games. He noted on Facebook that it is possible to decrease the number of officials and increase the number of coaches in the delegation.

“I know about the established restriction of the number of coaches per team and I had particular difficulties at the Olympic Games due to it. But at the same time, many officials came to the Olympics. I believe that if we had the desire it would be possible to leave a few workers of the Ministry at work and enable the coaches to prepare the athletes during the competition in Tokyo,” the MP wrote.

Thus, the issue of the shortage of places in the delegation for coaches became sharp after the situation of Ukrainian Maryna Kylypko (the pole vault). She repeatedly appealed to the committee with the request to admit her coach to the trip; however, she did not make it. Maryna had to perform without the support and it influenced the result – fifth place.

Beleniuk promised to take under personal control all problems faced by the Ukrainian athletes at the current Olympic Games. Particularly, he will analyze the non-admission of three Ukrainians to the competition due to the absence of the doping tests.
