Bartholomew calls Orthodox middle-rank leaders to admit Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church

The Patriarch of Constantinople sent a letter to the heads of autocephalous churches, which calls not to ignore the Ukrainian brothers who are experiencing the moments of desperate fight

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew wrote a letter calling the patriarchs and archbishops of autocephalous Orthodox churches to support the provision of autocephaly to the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church. The letter was published by Orthodoxia.info.

‘The realization of all [our] efforts is expected on January 6, on the Day of Epiphany, when we are intended to deliver Tomos of autocephaly and concelebrate it with the primate of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church [of Ukraine],’ reads the message.  

It is noted that the representatives of the Ukrainian clergy are already arriving Phanar, and the hierarchs of the local Orthodox churches can study the details of the letter in order to begin to recognize the new church.

Bartholomew called patriarchs and archbishops of autocephalous Orthodox churches to recognize the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church.  

‘If we decide to ignore our brothers, who are undergoing the moments of the desperate fight in Ukraine, we won’t have any excuse on the Doomsday,’ the Patriarch noted.
