President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has responded to Ihor Kondratyuk's petition to ban Russian artists from performing in the country. The Ukrainian head of state instructed to finalize the provisions of the initiative and analyze compliance with the law "On touring events in Ukraine." The response to the e-petition was published on the president's website.

"The law stipulates that touring events that popularize or propagandize the aggressor state and its authorities, representatives of the aggressor state authorities and their actions, create a positive image of the aggressor state, justify or recognize the legitimate occupation of the territory of Ukraine are not allowed," the message reads.

Thus, Zelensky noted that there is a black list of the Ministry of Culture, which prohibits concert activities in Ukraine of certain Russian stars. Those artists who pose a threat to national security are included there.

In addition, being on this list is one of the reasons why border guards may not allow a person to enter the territory of Ukraine at all.

At the same time, Zelensky instructed Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov and SBU head Ivan Bakanov to analyze the petition's proposals and explore the possibility of increasing responsibility for violating the law on touring by Russian artists.

Meanwhile, Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitriy Peskov, commenting on the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the return of the Russian-occupied Crimea, said that this is nothing more than a "statement of territorial claims" to the Russian Federation.

“Of course, the statement about the return of Crimea is currently nothing more than a statement about territorial claims to the Russian Federation. Such statements may have negative consequences,” Peskov said.
