Ukrainian social activist Volodymyr Balukh is informed about the meeting of Ukrainian and Russian Ombudsmen and hopes for the release by the exchange lists of detained people. This was reported by his lawyer Olga Dinze for Krym. Realii.
"He hopes very much for the exchange. As far as I know, Balukh is included in the exchange lists for two years. Therefore, if there were technical and political wills, he would be exchanged long ago. Will the political commitment be there for the Parliamentary elections - I do not know. I do not know either, whether he will be included in the number of those who can be exchanged or whether some other legal procedure can be used. But he is presented in the lists," Dinze said.
As we reported earlier, the sides came to an agreement to exchange with the detained people according to the scheme 208 on 69. The day before Ukrainian and Russian Ombudsmen Lyudmyla Denisova and Tatyana Moskalkova passed to each other the lists with the imprisoned Ukrainians and Russians.
Volodymyr Balukh was detained on December 8 in 2016. The officials of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation claimed they had found 90 bullets and TNT blocks in his house. But Balukh and his protectors say he is punished for the pro-Ukrainian opinion, as there always was the flag of Ukraine in his yard.
