Bad weather: 63 localities in Ukraine left without power

Due to the bad weather, 63 inhabited localities in Ukraine will be left without power. The State Emergency Service reports.

“Because of the bad weather (snowstorms, wind gusts) automatic security system of power lines turned on and 63 inhabited localities in eight regions were left without power: 14 in Mykolaiv, 10 in Zaporizhia, 10 on Kirovograd, 9 in Odesa, 7 in Cherkasy, 6 in Donetsk, 4 in Dnipropetrovsk, and 3 in Chernihiv,” the message says.

Earlier, the Emergency Service informed that on Saturday, March 3, the active cyclone will bring bad weather conditions to Ukraine. Snowstorms are expected in Cherkasy, Kherson, Zaporizhia, Donetsk, Kirovograd, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Wet snow and ice-slick are forecasted in Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhia at night and in Donetsk, Kirovograd, and Dnipropetrovsk regions during the day.

Wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are expected in Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhia, Kirovograd, Dnipropetrovsk, Luhansk, Donetsk, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy regions.
