Two witnesses of the prosecution's side will be questioned today during the court session on the case of the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych's state treason. This was reported in Facebook by the press secretary of the Prosecutor General Larysa Sargan.
Sargan did not specify who exactly would be questioned.
At the same time, the Interfax-Ukraine agency, citing its own sources, reports that Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and ex-Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk will be questioned in Obolon court today.
Yanukovych's lawyer Vitaly Serdyuk said he does not have information about who will be questioned today.
The interviews will be held in the afternoon. The hearing has already begun.
As it was reporteed earlier the lawyers of former Ukrainian leader Viktor Yanukovych failed to appear at the session hall of Pechersk district court in Kyiv. This judicial authority is currently looking into the opportunity of the special investigation into the Euromaidan case – a request by Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.
The prosecutors asked the court to assign the government attorney to protect Yanukovych’s interests.
It appeared that instead of Pechersk court, Yanukovych’s defense team came to Obolon court, which considers the case of state treason. The lawyers presented Yanukovych’s statement, in which he asked the court to bring back his former defense team.
