It is noted that the system will control the presence and concentration of contaminants in the atmosphere in real-time mode. The new system will determine the content in the air of carbonic oxide, ammonia, and nitrogen dioxide.
Currently, the experts of the plant have started the preparation works for the installment of the new system and develop all necessary documentation for the selection of the works contractor.
It is expected that the system of monitoring and certification will be installed the next spring.
“The project will be held in a few stages: holding of tender and selection of the works contractor, the conclusion of the contract with the works contractor, assembling and launch of work of sensing system, organization of automated analysis and data transmission, certification. The implementation of the whole project, according to the preliminary calculations, will need about 10 months. It is expected that the installment of the system of monitoring and certification will end before spring 2022,” the message says.
The decision to install an automated system of ecological monitoring was made after the incident that took place at the plant on July 20, 2021.
As it was reported earlier, on July 20, there was an explosion at Rivneazot, the nitrogen plant in Rivne city. An orange cloud covered the city. No one was injured in the blast. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, no chemically dangerous substances were detected in the air as a result of the accident.
As we reported, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine claimed that the cause of the accident at the Rivneazot nitrogen plant may be the inconsistency between the pipeline material and the stated characteristics of the manufacturer.
