Austrian HEAD Company postpones plant’s construction in Ukraine due to Covid-19

Austrian Company HEAD international Holding GmbH postponed the construction of the plant for the production of varied sporting equipment and paraphernalia in Vinnytsia, west-central Ukraine, for 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic as the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine reported.

“HEAD Company was ready to start the construction of the plant in April 2020. However, considering the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the HEAD Company made a decision to postpone the start of the construction of the plant for 2021. The duration of a project is 18 months,” the document says.

HEAD Company intends to build the plant for the production of the equipment for winter sports (skis, ski boots and ski bindings) in the territory of the industrial park. The square of the manufacturing entity will make about 50,000 square meters. The total volume of the investments in the project is about €80 million.

The company plans to create 1,450 new working places until 2026.

As we reported, Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Krykliy invited the Austrian companies to cooperate in the production of electric locomotives and renewal of the railway-yard of Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways).
