The Chancellor of Austria Christian Kern called to revise sanctions against Russian Federation. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with the reference to Bloomberg.
In particular, Kern said it was necessary to create a new concept that would be more effective and wouldn’t be so harmful for the European economy. He supports partial lifting of sanctions in return for progress in fulfilling Minsk agreements.
“It would be better for Austria. The concept, according to which, we impose sanctions and get a good result from Russia did not work. But we have to admit that lifting sanctions has to be done along with the implementation of Minsk agreements,” Kern said.
Earlier it was reported that Klimkin called Austria's plans of lifting sanctions step by step "crazy logic". According to the minister, the sanctions should be removed only after the return of Russia to the norms of international law.
