The investigation of the case of the attack at Kherson mayor adviser Kateryna Handzyuk was passed to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) as Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yury Lutsenko reported on Facebook.
"I visited affected Kateryna Handzyuk. Her state is critical. But her spirit is unbreakable as usual. She said her suggestions of the motives of the attack. Taking this into account, I made a decision to pass the investigation to the central apparatus of the SBU," Lutsenko wrote.
He added that due to the number of the attacks at the community workers, he planned the holding of the coordination meeting of the law enforcement bodies.
As it was reported previously, the adviser to Kherson city mayor Kateryna Handzyuk was attacked in the city on July 31. The attacker soaked her with acid. the woman was hospitalized.
30 percent of her body was burned: head, arms, legs, chest and left eye.
The attack on the employee of the City Council of Kherson was reclassified from "Hooliganism" to "Serious physical injuries committed with the aim of intimidation", and after a while - on "Attempted murder with a special cruelty."
Yuriy Lutsenko took the case under his own control.
