Ukraine’s Security Service defined that on July 13 at around 3:28 am an unidentified person performed a shot from an object which looked like hand anti-tank grenade RPG-22 at the building of 112 Ukraine TV channel.
A green tube from the rocket-propelled grenade RPG-22 was found in the yard of the building nearby.
Besides, 12 fragments likely from PG-22 grenade were found near the building.
The wall of the building between the fourth and fifth floor was damaged. A through hole was made in the wall.
As special knowledge is required to determine the circumstances of the criminal proceeding, the prosecution requests judicial expertise.
Court granted SBU’s motion and obliged Kyiv Research Institute of forensic examination of Justice Ministry to define the amount of damage done.
Besides, the expert centre of Internal Ministry has to define whether there are fingerprints or some other biomaterial on the parts of the grenade launcher.
Earlier, 112 Ukraine TV channel appealed to National Union of Journalists of Ukraine requesting cooperating in the protection of rights and interests of the journalists after the attack.
As it was reported earlier, on the night of July 13, two unknown persons shelled the building of the 112 Ukraine TV channel on Dehtiarivska street 21G, Kyiv from a grenade launcher. Police qualify the incident as a terrorist act, the press service of the National Police reported.
At 3:40, the police received a message that local residents had heard a sound like an explosion on Dehtiarivska Street in the Shevchenkivsky district of the city. Investigative-operational groups of the district and Chief Department of the Police, bomb technology, dog trainers and patrol crews immediately arrived at the scene.
Besides, a massive DDoS attack has been launched against the 112.ua website on the weekend. The unknown hackers tried to gain access to the admin panel of the 112.ua.
