A military parade will be held in Ukraine on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine. Over 5,000 servicemen and 400 units of equipment will take part in the parade. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at the Ukraine 30 forum.
"For the first time in 30 years of Ukraine's independence, the events with the representatives and equipment of all forces of the security and defense sector of Ukraine and partner countries are planned. On Khreshchatyk Street, in Dnipro, Odesa, in the Black Sea, they are our pride, those who are ready to defend Ukraine on land, on water and in the air," Zelensky told.
According to the colonel and representative of the Central Department of Security of the Military Service of the Armed Forces Ruslan Serhiyenko, more than 5,000 personnel, 100 aircraft, 400 units of weapons and equipment would be involved in the ceremonial events.
"During the parade it is planned to hold an artillery volley salute from Trukhanov Island," Serhiyenko said.
He also noted that as part of the parade, a solemn passage of warships and the aircraft flights, as well as a display of weapons and military equipment will take place in Odesa.
In addition, there will be a solemn passage of boats and the aircraft flights, and display of weapons and military equipment on the Dnieper River.
Serhiyenko also said that the passage of the infantry column for the first time involves the simultaneous participation of representatives of all security and defense forces of Ukraine, canine units of the country and about 15 units of partner countries.
It was reported that the Constitution and mace of Pylyp Orlyk to be brought to Ukraine for the first time in 311 years.
On August 22, Ukraine will honor the memory of the fallen soldiers.
