As of morning, September 15, 690 Hasidim trying to enter Ukraine stayed at the border with Belarus. The Border Guard Service expects the arrival of a few more thousands of pilgrims, as the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported.
“A few more thousands of foreigners might arrive at the Belarusian-Ukrainian border,” the message reads.
Thus, the Border Guard Service predicts the arrival of up to 1,000 people at the border in the Chernihiv region, up to 700 people in the Zhytomyr region, up to 1,500 people in the Volyn region. Moreover, it is expected that three charter flights would arrive in Minsk – about 600 foreigners.
The border service noted that the situation at the border with Belarus is controlled.
As we reported, the foreign citizens started to gather at the border to enter Ukraine for pilgrimage, despite the restrictions for the entrance of the foreigners until September 28. The Hasidim continue to stay in the territory of Belarus between the Ukrainian and Belarusian checkpoints.
