Around 400 Ukrainians are participating in peacekeeping missions abroad, Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Stepan Poltorak told Ukrinform in an interview.

“By its actions, including peacekeeping, Ukraine proved it’s a nation of principle that always fulfills its obligations. In the years of independence, over 40.000 of our soldiers took part in peacekeeping operations,” he said.

According to Poltorak, Ukraine’s participation in peacekeeping missions doesn’t affect the state of combat readiness. “We have enough capacity to fulfill all of our functions,” the Defense Minister assured.
