Around 300,000 Ukrainians went to EU countries visa-free

Only 61 citizens of Ukraine were denied entry to the European Union since visa liberalization

Almost 295 thousand Ukrainians took advantage of the visa-free regime with the countries of the European Union. This was reported by the assistant head of the State Border Guard Service Oleh Slobodyan, Radio Liberty reports.

With the beginning of autumn, citizens of Ukraine visiting the European Union reduced by one a third.

According to the EU Delegation in Ukraine, Only 61 citizens of Ukraine were denied entry to the European Union since visa liberalization.   

The main reasons for the refusal were the exceeding of the duration of stay in the EU during previous trips and absence of documents confirming the purpose and conditions of stay in EU countries.

However, Slobodyan emphasizes that this figure includes only those people who reported that they were not allowed to Europe.

As it was reported earlier Canada is not ready for an active dialogue on the introduction of a visa-free regime with Ukraine and the beginning of negotiations on a 'road map' on the conclusion of such an agreement. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze during a briefing.

The government of Japan started working out the issue of visas cancellation for Ukrainians. This was announced in Facebook by the Ukraine’s MP Leonid Yemets after his visit to the country.
