Prosecutor’s Office arrested traders during the attempt to sell a Kalashnikov rifle and a gun

Kyiv law enforcers busted and detained a group of people who were selling arms and ammunition brought from the ATO zone. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv.

Prosecutors detained traders the attempt to sell a Kalashnikov (АК-74) rifle and a gun from 900 dollars.

At the same time, law enforcers found 1 gun, 1 muffler, 267 rounds and 1 grenade with a fuse during the inspection of the car of the suspects.

At the moment, three offenders (two men and a woman) were detained under the article 208 of the Criminal Procedur Code of Ukraine. They were served charge papers under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (carrying, possession, acquisition, manufacture, repair, transfer or sale of firearms, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices without statutory authorization) and motion for choosing preventive measures for them was submitted to the court.

In the framework of criminal proceedings, law enforcers will investigate the channel for the weapons supply and identify other persons that may be involved in illegal sales.

Earlier it was reported that an arms cache with three man-portable flamethrowers were discovered in Donetsk region. The Russian-made guns were found near Sloviansk, released from pro-Kremlin militants in summer 2014,according to Ukraine’s Security Service.
