Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NAPC) Oleksandr Novikov noted that the order of the government on the appointment of Yuriy Vitrenko as Head of the Naftogaz Ukraine is illicit and the contract with him should be abolished as the NAPC reported.
“On June 14, Chair of the NAPC Oleksandr Novikov submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine the order on the elimination of breaches of the Article 26 of the Law of Ukraine On prevention corruption. The order demands to abolish as illegal the paragraphs 8 and 9 of the decree of the government #370-p, according to which, Yuriy Vitrenko was elected and appointed as Head of the Naftogaz Ukraine, the contract with him was signed,” the message says.
The agency explained that after the dismissal from public service, a person should not participate in the leadership of the organization during a year that he/she could influence when he/she worked for the state. The NAPC noted that during the fulfillment of the duties of the Energy Minister, Vitrenko systematically participated in the preparation of decision for activity of Naftogaz Ukraine.
On April 28, the Cabinet of Ministers officially reported the dismissal of Andriy Kobolev from the position of Naftogaz Head. The government held a general meeting of the stockholders of Naftogaz. The report of the company’s work for 2020 was considered.
It is noted that Naftogaz Ukraine will be chaired by Yuriy Vitrenko from April 29.
