Russia and Ukraine hold the private negotiations on the prolongation of the flight worthiness of the planes Antonov An-124 Ruslan as Kommersant reported citing the sources.

'Both sides are interested in the agreement but the final decision is still not made due to the complex relationships between the countries', the source reported.

Antonov Company left the Ukrainian-Russian joint enterprise 'UAK Antonov' dye to the Russian aggression in Ukraine and stopped the maintenance of the Russian carrier.

Russian carries possess 12 Ruslan planes that perform charter cargo operations. Antonov Company remained to be the certificate holder of these planes and the procedure of the prolongation of the flight worthiness should be done after every 4 000 flight hours according to the company conditions. At the same time, Antonov Company stood against the transfer of the rights for the maintenance of these planes to the Russian Ilyushin Aviation Complex.

The source close to the Ukrainian government expressed the hope that the Antonov Company and Volga-Dnepr Company will be able to agree due to the fact that the Ilyushin Il-76 planes possessed by Ukraine also need the prolongation of the flight worthiness by the Russian company.
