The National Police opened a criminal investigation due to the anti-Semitic inscriptions at the number objects of the Jewish heritage in Odesa as Ruslan Forostiak, the adviser of the Chairman of the National Police in Odesa region reported on Facebook.

The criminal investigation was started due to the violation of the equality of the citizens towards their race, nationality or religious belief.

‘Despite the grounds to treat these inscriptions as another element of anti-state provocations in the region, I hope that the villains will be identified and they will carry the proper punishment’, he noted.

As we reported earlier the vandals made the anti-Semitic inscriptions on a number of buildings related to Jewish people. The building of the regional archive, which in the past was a synagogue and which is planned to be handed over to the Jewish community “Chabad Shomrei Shabos” was damaged by the hooligans. Also, an insulting inscription appeared at the entrance to the Holocaust museum.
