Ukraine's Anti-Corruption Bureau reveals details of searches at Football Association

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) revealed the details of the searches in the building of the Ukrainian Football Association, as bureau’s press service reported.

“In response to the requests of the mass media we report that on June 5, 2019, the NABU detectives hold searches in the building of the Football Federation of Ukraine (do not confuse with Ukrainian Football Association, - the investigative actions were authorized by the court and they were held within the investigation of the possible abuses during the procurement of works and services on the construction of the football fields with the artificial cover by the state budget,” the message said.

The NABU added that such actions were agreed with the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

As it was reported earlier, in April, the NABU searched the house of Vadym Kostyuchenko, the Vice President of Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU). The FFU is suspected of the corruption schemes, including the illegal use of the state funds. Besides, the plant of the federation on the production of the artificial grass was searched as well as the partakers of the criminal case investigated by the NABU since June 2018.
