Another attempt to set Ukrainian TV channel’s office on fire in Kyiv

There was another attempt to set on fire the office of one of the Ukrainian TV channels in Kyiv tonight, reports the press service of the Metropolitan Police Administration.

The duty station of the Shevchenkiskyi Police Department received several messages around midnight that near the administrative building of the channel on Dmytrivska street some unknown threw incendiary mixture.

Upon arrival at the scene, police officers interrogated the security guard. The guard said that he heard some sounds similar to explosions and saw on cameras several men running towards the administrative building and flames. Together with his colleagues, he ran out on the street and put out the fire using fire extinguishers and called the police.

During the inspection of the site, law enforcement officers found debris of glass bottles and one bottle sealed with cloth with some substance. The bottle was sent to expertise.

Criminal proceedings were opened under Part 2, Article 194 (intentional destruction or damage of property committed by arson) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the sanction of which provides imprisonment for a term from three to ten years.
