132 people have a confirmed diagnosis of Covid-19 in Kyiv. Only in the last 24 hours, the number of sick people in the capital increased by 25. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said this during an online press conference broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
“I do not want to scare you, but the dynamics of the spread of the virus in the capital is distressing. The number of people infected with Covid-19 in the last 24 has increased by 25. In total, 132 cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in the capital,” Klitschko said.
According to mayor, out of 25 new patients - 12 men aged 23 to 71 years, 12 women from 21 to 80 years old and one child - a girl who is just over a year old. Of the 25 patients, 15 were hospitalized. Four were hospitalized in Oleksandrivska hospital, seven patients – in the city hospital No. 4, three - in hospital № 9 and another one in hospital No. 3.
Another 10 patients are treated at home in self-isolation under the supervision of doctors.
“Over a half of Kyiv residents who have been diagnosed positive in the past day have not traveled outside Ukraine recently. They were infected in Ukraine. This means that the virus is spreading and covering the city,” Klitschko added.
Mayor is convinced that Kyiv the city authorities had introduced restrictive measures in time despite the fact that many people of Kyiv do not like it.
“I don't all believe in the threat and it's not about me” I will say: come down to earth! Stop wondering around the city, ignoring the restrictions that have been set to save you!” Klitschko said.
Earlier it was reported that number of coronavirus-infected people increased up to 669 in Ukraine. Ukrainian doctors allowed to use world practices in treatment of Covid-19 from now on.
