The wreckage of An-26 military aircraft was collected and transferred to the military unit; the decryption of the black boxes has started as Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleh Urusky reported on Facebook.
“The wreckage of An-26 plane was collected and transferred to the territory of A4104 military unit in Chuhuiv, Kharkiv region, where they are situated under the round-the-clock guard of the State Investigation Bureau. Further, the specialists will hold a maximum accumulation of the plane in the original condition,” the message said.
The minister also noted that the black boxes were found and they escaped destruction.
“Their state is satisfactory. The information at the recorders is saved. They were removed and on September 27, 2020, the aviation experts controlled by the SIB started the process of their decryption, which will last approximately three-five days,” Urusky said.
He also specified that today, on September 28, the relatives of the deceased will provide the samples for DNA-analysis to identify the bodies.
As we reported, a plane crash occurred near Chuhiuv, in Kharkiv region on late September 25. The disaster resulted in deaths of 26 people.
The SBU said that in total there were 27 Ukrainians on board the aircraft, including 20 cadets of the Kharkiv University of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine named after Kozhedub and 7 crew members.
