Amber diggers block international road in Rivne Oblast demanding to legalize their activity

The rally is reported to be short-term: Officials from Sarny Regional State Administration promised to arrive at the scene to hear out protesters’ demands

Today morning amber diggers blocked the part of Kyiv-Warsaw international road in Rivne Oblast. This was reported by 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"People demand legalization of amber mining and information regarding one of their comrades. A few days ago there was an incident between amber diggers and law enforcement officers, one person was taken by police as a result, nobody knows where he is as of now. The road is blocked since 9 a.m., a long line of cars has already formed. Drivers react differently, there are those who are upset but likeminded with protesters’ demands," correspondent said.

It is also informed that the action was reported short-term. Officials from Sarny Regional State Administration promised to arrive at the scene to hear out protesters’ demands. There were no law enforcement officers while reporting took place.

Later correspondent informed that police arrived at the block and accused picketers of violating the law. According to unconfirmed information, special forces were sent to unblock the road.
