Ambassador William Taylor comes back to Ukraine as Charge d'affaires a.i. the U.S.

Ambassador William Taylor came back to Ukraine and became a Charge d’affaires a.i. the U.S., U.S. Embassy in Kyiv reported.

Taylor will head the team of the U.S. Embassy, which will deal with the development of “working relationship” with Zelensky and other politicians. Besides, he will support “partnership with civil society organizations and Ukrainians.”

“The U.S. remains deeply dedicated to the success of the stable, prosperous, democratic and free Ukraine, and we continue supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” William Taylor.

The representatives of the Embassy noted that Taylor would bring “vast diplomatic experience” in the team.

“Ambassador Taylor will bring vast diplomatic experience at this important moment in the relationships between Ukraine and the U.S. He was the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine since 2006 till 2009 and was a special coordinator of State Department on the Middle East, the U.S. representative in the Quartet on the Middle East and other diplomatic positions,” the message reads.

The message also reads that Kristina Kvien who previously headed the Embassy as a Charge d’affaires will come back to Ukraine as a Deputy Head of the Mission.
