The third question of the All-Ukrainian poll on October 25 is: “Do you support the reduction in the number of MPs up to 300?” and the President’s Office provided all necessary information.

“The third question in the All-national poll on October 25, 2020, as is already known, will be the next: “Do you support the reduction in the number of MPs up to 300?”. If people vote ‘yes’, any politician – no matter how many financial, media or party influence he/she has – will not be able to dispute will of the people,” the message said.

It is noted that for the adoption of the relevant law by the parliament, 300 affirmative votes are necessary. That is why President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky offered people to speak out.

“This bill was preliminary approved by the Verkhovna Rada and analyzed by the Constitutional Court that made a conclusion that the initiative of the head of the state meets the requirements of the Main law,” the office added.

The deep decentralization reform took place in Ukraine. It means that greater authorities and significantly greater financial possibilities of their implementation were passed to local. Consequently, after the change of the balance between the central and local authority, the necessity appeared in a greater concentration of professionalism at the level of the national parliament.

“Usual for us number of the MPs of Ukraine is rather big and create temptation for numerous players with voluminous lobbyist resources to present places in the lists of their parties as remuneration for multi-year accompaniment. We consider that the parliament seat cannot be remuneration. The reduction of the number of lawmakers might positively influence the quality of the representation of the voters’ interests. The competition for parliament seats will increase. The parliament will become more professional and the state needs it,” the message said.
