The all-national quarantine will not be introduced in Ukraine as it might stop the whole country. Ukraine 24 reported that, citing Deputy Head of the President’s Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko.
“As for the lockdowns: we follow the way of local lockdowns – in particular territories and regions. This example helps not to stop the whole country in general. We have red zones in some regions but it does not mean that it is necessary to introduce lockdown in other regions in green and orange zones. We follow the way of local lockdowns and it helps,” Tymoshenko said.
He used Ivano-Frankivsk region as an example: “It was in the red zone for almost for a month, but it is emerging from it now. Otherwise, we would introduce lockdown all over the country and close it. That is why the local lockdowns work”.
Currently, Kyiv city, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv regions are in the red zone.
Earlier, Health Minister of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov stated that the introduction of curfew in Ukraine is not discussed yet.
