Earlier Poltava authorities claimed that the international status would allow Poltava airport to make flights from Poltava to Azerbaijan, Georgia, Arab Emirates, Egypt and other countries.
The airport Poltava was built in the 50's - 60's years of the last century. The airport has a passenger terminal with a total area of about 5 thousand square meters and a throughput capacity of 400 passengers per hour. The length of the runway is 2.55 km.
Currently, there are 19 airports with international status in Ukraine. They are located in Vinnytsia, Dnipo, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Boryspil, Kyiv, Kyrovohrad, Kryvy Rih, Lviv, Mariupol, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Rivne, Sumy, Uzhorod, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernivtsi.
As it was reported earliier the number of people that cross the border through Kyiv Airport increased by one third due to a visa-free travel.
About 330 000 citizens crossed the border to leave the country through the airport and 360 000 people crossed the border to enter since June 11, 2017.
