The case against the judges of the District Administrative Court in Kyiv will be the test for independence and impartiality of the High Council of Justice. This was reported by RBK-Ukraine.

According to the news agency, the conflict between the former authorities’ representatives and the District Administrative Court may be caused due to the number of “uncomfortable” judicial decisions, including the nationalization of PrivatBank.

The act of the possible pressure on the court was the session of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine in April 2019 where the court’s decision was used to intimidate the public with the financial crisis.

“But the crisis did not happen and the authority decided to strike directly the rebellious court. Now there are all reasons to believe that until the leadership of the Prosecutor’s Office and anti-corruption institutions is still the same, the former authorities can continue to influence the law enforcement agencies,” the message said.

Besides, the District Administrative Court case will demonstrate the capacity of the High Council of Justice to protect the workers and strengthen the authority of justice.
