The adaptive quarantine might be extended in Kyiv until 2022. There is no issue about the strict lockdown, as RBK-Ukraine reported citing Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection Oleh Ruban.

“It can be (extended, - and not only in Kyiv but worldwide. The data confirmed by epidemics that each causative agent that formed in the world circulates until its leveling, in other words, until its destruction, 1.5 years. The restrictive measures and measures of defense might be extended for this whole period of time,” Ruban said.

Until the end of the pandemic, according to him, 80% of the population should get through the coronavirus infection.

“The possibility of the strengthening of the quarantine in Kyiv – we have consistently high incidence rates. From the epidemiological point of view, this infection will continue for three seasons as the pandemic flu continued – in fact, until the formation of the herm immunity at a 50-70% level. Three seasons is 1.5 years,” Ruban said.

He added that in 1.5 years, people will get through coronavirus as usual cold.

As we reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine might make a decision about another extension of the quarantine for a month.
