About a hundred of public activists gathered near the building of the Prosecutor General’s Office (GPU) with a demand to announce the suspicion to the instigators of the murder of Kateryna Handziuk, as Ukrainska Pravda news agency reported.
The activists unfolded the posters with the names of the possible instigators of the murders.
Particularly, the posters included the names of Andry Hordeev (Chairman of Kherson Regional State Administration) and Yevhen Ryshchuk (Deputy Chairman of Kherson Regional State Administration). The signs “Who stays behind the murder of Handziuk?” were on the t-shirts of the activists. Besides, they wrote “We demand indictment for instigators!” on the pavement near GPU.
Lawyer and partaker of the rally Masi Nayyem explained that people demand from the GPU to finish the investigation of the murder of Handziuk and announce the suspicion to the instigators on the basis of the evidence received from the perpetrators of the crime.
The activists chanted “Yura, go out!” as well as “When Yura is going to go out?” and “Who ordered Katia Handziuk?”.
The law enforcers were also present near the GPU; the guarded the building and observed the events.
Any of the prosecutors came out to people.
On June 6, the court delivered a verdict against five suspects of Handziuk’s case. All of them were accused of intentional serious bodily harm committed by a group of people with prior agreement.
On November 4, 2018, it became known that Kateryna Handziuk died at the age of 34. She was doused with sulphuric acid in July this year. According to preliminary information, her death was caused by blood clot's detachment.
Besides, the doctors specified the cause of death; it was due to multiple organ failure and chemical burns.
