Accused in Sheremet's murder case released under round-the-clock home arrest

The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv city released the accused in the case of the murder of journalist Pavlo Sheremet Andriy Antonenko under the round-the-clock home arrest. Suspilne reported this on April 3.

According to the court decision, Antonenko must wear an electronic bracelet. It is noted that the defense team of the accused man requested a change the measure of restraint to the security detention on recognizance or bail. Three statements on vouch for Antonenko were attached to the case.

However, the prosecutor did not object to the mitigation of the preventive measures.

The journalist Pavlo Sheremet died as a result of a car explosion in Kyiv downtown on the morning of July 20, 2016. On December 12, 2019, the National Police stated that Andriy Antonenko, Yulia Kuzmenko and Yana Duhar were suspected of involvement in the murder of the journalist. Kuzmenko and Duhar's restriction measures were changed to 24/7 house arrest.
