Ukrainian vaccine against coronavirus might be produced not earlier than in a year as President of DiaPrep System Inc Company Mykhailo Favorov stated.

“We might expect if everything goes smoothly and the electricity will never be shut off – it takes nine months. In fact, the issue is about a year,” Favorov said.

He noted that ‘these processes cannot be accelerated’ and unverified vaccine cannot be used. Initially, all three phases should be held and get the positive results of the third phase.

Earlier, Health Minister of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov stated that the non-clinical phase of trials of the Ukrainian candidate for the vaccine against Covid-19 is finished. The clinical phase should start soon.

Earlier, a media report appeared saying that Ukrainian labs that develop the vaccine against Covid-19 received funding to continue research works.

As of October 22, 322,879 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Ukraine. 7,053 cases were observed over the last 24 hours. A total of 6,043 people (+116 per day) died in the country as a result of complications caused by coronavirus disease, but 134,898 (+2,679) patients have already managed to recover. The number of active cases of Covid-19 is 184,733.
