The workers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine will enhance the security measures during the second tour of the presidential elections. About 6,000 border guards will keep the order as the service reported.
Over 1,300 people will be involved daily for security additionally. The trained dogs will work at the checkpoints and outside of them. Besides, the reserves of the heads of the security bodies of the state border and heads of the regional departments, fighters of the operative respond reaction and members of the volunteer public formations will be involved.
The special attention will be paid to the observers and accredited mass media representatives. The border guards will allow to pass people, whose name present on the list filed by the Central Election Commission.
The first tour of the presidential elections finished in Ukraine. After the processing of 100% of the protocols it was announced that Zelensky got 30,24% of the votes, Poroshenko has 15,95% and Tymoshenko gained 13,40%. The second tour of the elections is appointed for April 21.
The candidates for the presidency cannot agree on the date and place of the holding of the debates.
On April 3, Zelensky replied to Poroshenko's invitation to participate in debates and put forward his conditions. He wanted to hold debates at Olympic Stadium. Poroshenko’s team said, “the President does not perform at stadiums”. A few hours later Poroshenko changed his mind and agreed to participate in the debates.
On April 7, Poroshenko stated that he waits for Volodymyr Zelensky on April 14 at Olympic Stadium.
In his turn, Zelensky reported that he wants to hold the debates with Poroshenko on April 19 at Olympic Stadium.
Petro Poroshenko came to the Olympic Stadium on April 14; however, Zelensky did not show up. The current president answered all questions of the journalists alone.
