'More than 3,300 foreigners that fall under the category of the biometric control crossed the border of Ukraine during the first day of the work of this system and 1,900 of them are Russians. The system worked without failure and there were no provocations or conflicts vat the checkpoints. The citizens react calmly', he said.
It’s also noted that the checkpoints bordering with Donbas conflict zone would not have the biometric control systems, our citizens from Russia won’t be able to cross the border if they’re coming from the occupied territory.
The State Border Guard Service also noted that citizens of Ukraine who live in the occupied by Russia Crimea would not need to go through the biometric control.
The system of the recording of the biometric data for the citizens of 71 countries began to work on January 1, 2018. As we reported earlier the biometric control on Ukraine-Russia state border started working on December 27.
