Around 900 prisoners complain about prison conditions on Donbas territory beyond Ukraine’s control, as Lyudmyla Denisova, Ukraine’s Ombudsman, said. 112 Ukraine broadcasted the event.

“Secretariat received 895 of such complaints from the Ukrainians (imprisoned in occupied Donbas). 470 from Donetsk region, and 425 from Luhansk. Ukraine is ready to take all the prisoners, any number they are ready to provide. Yet, the illegal armed formations slow down this process,” Denisova noted.

At the same time, Verkhovna Rada Spokesperson Iryna Gerashchenko reminded that during Minsk talks, Ukraine’s side has tried to agree on time and location of prisoners exchange several times.

“Denisova is ready to go and take hundreds of prisoner even tomorrow, and they will serve the sentence in Ukraine under the Ukrainian legislation. But we don’t see any response from the Kremlin’s puppets. Moscow demands Denisova to conduct direct talks with the so-called representatives of the occupied Donbas,” Gerashchenko noted, as Interfax-Ukraine reports.
