As of May 2, 2019, 86 people were illegally imprisoned within politically motivated or religious persecution in Crimea, as Crimean human rights group reported on Facebook.
In particular, 55 people are involved in the case of “the Crimean Muslims”. 13 people were arrested under the case of “the Ukrainian subverts”, 3 people – under “Sentsov’s group” case and one person – under “Tablighi Jamaat” case.
Besides, criminal cases were opened against nine Ukrainians, three people are persecuted for taking part in Noman Çelebicihan battalion and two people who were participants of Maidan.
Earlier, the Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars İlmi Ümerov said that over 80 political prisoners were in Crimean prisons.
