Pereyaslav district court could not consider the extension of the restrictive measure for the suspects in the murder of Kyrylo Tlyavov.
Firstly, judge Ihor Opanasyuk granted the motion on the recusal of judge Yaroslav Kerekez and later he recused himself. He explained such a decision by the friendship with on the suspected police officers – Volodymyr Petrivets. Then, the prosecutor doubted the decision of Opanasyuk on the recusal of Kerekez.
Finally, the court decided to pass the materials of the case to Kyiv Appeal Court to establish the jurisdiction of the case, particularly, the court, which will hold the process.
Thus, the issue on the extension of the detention of three suspects will be considered by another court.
On December 23, the prosecutor's office of the Kyiv region sent a bill of indictment to the court in the case of the murder of 5-year-old Kyrylo Tlyavov in the city of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi.
On May 31, a boy with physical injuries in the form of a severe closed-head injury, brain contusion, internal brain hematoma and a fracture of the temporal bone was delivered to the intensive care unit of the Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky hospital. On June 3, Kyrylo died; the doctors could not save his life.
June 5, it appeared that Dmytro Tsenov, the chief of the National Police in Kyiv region, was relieved from his duty because of the tragedy. Then, he was appointed the Head of Police in the Joint Forces Operation in Donbas.
As we reported, the leadership of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky police department of Kyiv region was suspended from their duties after the death of five-year-old Kyrylo injured by the police officers.
