Earlier we reported that Canadian Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan said that the country’s government is looking for ways to expand its military assistance to Ukraine, one of the stages of which was opening access to the Canadian arms market.
This list (Automatic Firearms Country Control List) determines the countries in which Canada allows its domestic producers to supply weapons. Now it includes 35 countries, including Botswana, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Colombia, but there is no Ukraine. After the signing in early April of the "Agreement on Defense Cooperation between the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Ministry of National Defense of Canada and the Canadian Armed Forces", Canadian Defense Minister Harjit Singh Sajjan stated that for Ukraine the opening of the Canadian arms market would be "the next step of cooperation." However, until now this has not happened.
