42 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and at least 350 have been wounded in east Ukraine conflict since the start of 2016, Deputy Secretary of Ukraine’s Security and Defense Council, Mykhailo Koval, informed at the meeting of Interparliamentary Assembly of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, Lithuanian Sejm and Polish Sejm and Senate, UNIAN correspondent reports.
Koval mentioned, that at least 6,380 attacks from Russian-backed militants against Ukraine’s Armed Forces have been reported starting this year and added, that the Russian Federation continues to neglect Minsk peace agreements: ‘For now, all efforts to pacify the aggressor lead only to higher numbers of victims among Ukrainian military and civilians, as well as raise a threat of full-fledged military activities all over Europe’, - Koval said.
According to Koval, in over two years of Donbas conflict ‘militants and their Russian masters’ have killed at least 10,000 Ukrainians, over 20,000 Ukrainian citizens have been wounded and around 2 million people have been forces to leave their homes.
He informed, that Russia continues to increase presence of militants in east Ukraine.
