Law enforcement officers found traumatic weapons that several protesters in downtown Kyiv had with them. It is reported by the Metropolitan Police press service.
“After the light inspection, law enforcement officers found registered traumatic weapons that several individuals carried with them. The Police officers held a preventive conversation about inappropriateness if carrying weapons in places of mass gatherings of people. This is a preventive measure in order to avoid provocations and conflicts,” the Police announced.
Three people brought traumatic weapon, the Police did not arrest them, the Head of the Metropolitan Police Andriy Kryshchenko commented on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.
“These people intended to participate in protests, they had registered device for bullets, but they were not allowed to the territory, where the protests are held. There were only three of them, we did not arrest anyone and did not confiscate weapons, officers had a conversation with them and they left,” he announced.
The situation is tense, but it's under control. There were no conflicts. Now protests are involving about two thousand people: a thousand near the National Bank and the Verkhovna Rada. At the peak moment there were about 3 thousand people near the Rada and three and a half thousand near the National Bank of Ukraine. The security measures similar to those of today, will be introduced in the capital until November 22. It is difficult to estimate the number of people who refused to participate in rallies and protests due to increased security measures, but the applications were for a significantly greater number of people. Today, at the peak time, there were only about three and a half thousand people according to Andrei National Police.
Earlier it was reported that a mass rally of several hundred people gathered at the building of the National Bank of Ukraineon Instytutska street in the center of Kyiv. Near the National Bank there are a lot of police officers of the National Police and the National Guard. Also there are several tented KamAZ of law enforcement.
