The National Guard of Ukraine reported the tragic death of its serviceman at a training ground near Kyiv. Information about the incident was provided by the press officer of the National Guard Rapid Response Brigade Maksym Taran in a comment to Ukrainska Pravda.
“Our soldier Roman Oleksa was tragically killed during a field exercise during a field raid. The serviceman was seriously injured during the exercise. Roman was immediately taken to a hospital, but the injuries were incompatible with life. The soldier's body was taken to his native village of Zavyshen, Lviv region. The unit's command went to the parents to provide comprehensive assistance,” Taran said.
At the time of his death, the National Guard was 24 years old. The tragedy occurred on September 28. The National Guard does not say what caused the soldier's fatal injuries.
The State Bureau of Investigation has opened proceedings over the death of the fighter. The National Guard is cooperating with the investigation.
As it was reported earlier Oleksiy Stryzhak, the Ukrainian fighter who deceased in Donbas combat zone on September 30 will be buried on Saturday, October 2.
