24 people hospitalized with suspicion for Covid-19 in Lviv

As of morning on March 18, 24 people were hospitalized in Lviv with suspicion for coronavirus. The analyses were sent to Kyiv as Lviv City Council reported.

According to Head of situation room on immediate decisions in terms of the threat of coronavirus epidemic in Lviv Halyna Slychna, all hospitalized are young people who returned from abroad.

“In Lviv, 24 people are hospitalized; all of them have epidemiological anamnesis – the grounds for the suspicion for coronavirus. First of all, there are people who were abroad. All 24 persons have the signs of the disease but there is no laboratory confirmation. All materials sent to Kyiv for analyses,” she said.

Slychna noted that 12 out of 24 people are the citizens of Lviv.

Moreover, the city council noted that the wet cleaning of the city continues. The community services clean streets, sidewalks, bus stops and benches.

“The schedule of cleaning with the disinfection means is formed. The vacuum cleaners continue to work. The district administrations provide the cleaning of the staircases in the houses,” the message said.

On March 17, Ukraine blocked all types of traffic across the state border as part of measures to combat the Covid-2019 epidemic.

As we reported, Ukraine's Healthcare Ministry reported 14 officially confirmed cases of Covid-19; two of 14 patients deceased.
